Last Saturday we went to Monster Jam!  Lil C LOVED the Loud Cars – His favorites were The 2 Dog cars – Mega Bite and Brutus.  Needless to say, neither of them won, but it was a great night

This week is a Not so Wordless Wednesday! The MI Savings Mama Family had such a great time!


    


This past Thursday I had the opportunity to take Lil C, Lil Miss, My man, and also my uncle and cousin to see the Ringling Bros & Barnum Bailey Circus!  This was held at the Palace!


     


Some of my Favorite parts were the Clown!  He just was always doing something to make fun of the other actors!  Which made the crowd laugh louder and louder!  The Band was defiantly my all time favorite! I love when there is a live ensemble!   If you look hard enough, you will be able to see the drummer behind the sound wall!


     


These animals are all Amazing Creatures!   I sit in Awe every time I see them!

Lil C is in First grade… Things have sure changed a LOT since I was in First Grade.  They are already Learning Spanish…..Hey, I didn’t even get the opportunity to take a Language until I hit High School.  I know it is stated that Kids Absorb things like a sponge, and that’s why they start teaching them so young.  But How do I help him with his Spanish?  I tried to have him teach me, but It’s hard to know if he’s teaching me the right words, when I have no  clue of the language itself.  The older you get, the harder it is to learn new things (in theory).  But it is now Extremely Easy to learn new Languages with Slanguage!




A little about Slanguage:  It’s simple: follow the illustrated prompts and read the English words out loud, and soon you’ll be speaking Spanish. This handy, easy-to-read language guide is easy to carry and gives the basic phrases you need while traveling, asking directions, or ordering food at a restaurant. It also includes phrases for medical or legal emergencies, as well as terminology for hotels, airports, and so on. But most of all, it’s just plain fun!  This is created by Mike Ellis




After only using the Slanguage for a few days, I was already able to hold a simple conversation with my son – Asking how the other is and being able to respond!

The Spanish Slanguage is broken up into Different Chapters – including:

Adjectives

Family

Questions

Food and Restaurants

Labor

Law Enforcement

Health and Medicine

Travel and Tourism

This book is great for all ages - because not only does it have words, but there are pictures as well to help you learn the language as well.  Even though I personally could go through and learn the language quicker on my own, I am taking the time and going through the chapters, with Lil C.  He is doing Moo We Bee Yen! (Very good).

So, as you may remember – I went to BlogHer  in August.. and I met some great people… I love looking through the cards that I received – reminding myself of the great friendships I made because of it.  So I scooped up the pile of cards from my bag (boy were they all over) and low and behold – look who were at the top!  2 people, that because of BlogHer, I would have never know.  Mitch from GayNYC Dad and Liz from Yes/No Films


   

And I got a breath of fresh Air looking out my door this morning – look at those beautiful roses in bloom!  I love them….
